I have a sweet tooth, I like chocolate, lollies, icecream etc.
The thing is, I don't want to be a chubster so I try and buy low sugar/low fat stuff with lower calories.
So last week I came across Skinny Cow icecream, with way less sugar and fat than everything else.
However today I decided to checkout what is in it.
Sweeteners 950,951,955
A summary of safety concerns from www.AdditiveAlert.com.au
950 Acesulphame-K: caused cancer and tumours in animal tests
951 Aspartame (Nutrasweet, Equal): linked to many health problems including headaches, seizures and brain tumours. The FDA has received more complaints about aspartame than any other food additive
952 Cyclamates: suspected carcinogen banned in the UK and USA in 1970 but still permitted in Australia
954 Saccharin: linked to bladder and reproductive cancers banned in the USA in 1977 but reinstated with strict labelling provisions
955 Sucralose: caused kidney and liver damage in tests, more research needed
sounds pretty good so far
Diet Coke seems to have 950 and 951
my dairy farmers light yoghurt has the same

Yeah, always avoid anything with artificial sweeteners. I have no idea why Australia still allows these things to be sold.
You can get some good low-fat stuff from health food shops. Warning: sometimes these foodstuffs have no flavour and may taste like cardboard or worse.
