The Day the Earth Stood Still

So i just got back from watching another crap movie, The day the earth stood still.

It started off ok, standard aliens invading + random sci-fi stuff. Then it became a bit too "War of the Worlds". The shit one with tom cruise as a stupid single dad with an annoying daughter and a hero son.

In this movie we get a white chick and for some reason she has a black kid, well it's not really her kid. The kids mum died (unknown) and then Dad hooks up with the white chick and then he dies. You'll never guess how!! The iraq war!! To make things worse the kid is will smith's son.

If I am watching an end of the world movie I DO NOT care about kids, I don't give a shit about who their real mum is I don't care who his Dad was and I don't want to hear him. There are more important issues here! We are all going to die!!

Why the hell do they have to add these crappy subplots.

So the basic story is Keanu Reeves is just some random dude in the ice (80 years or so ago) who finds this big orb, he touches it and from that the aliens get his DNA. They come back in this big orb that is heading towards earth (america) and the yanks assemble a bunch of scientists to workout what to do.

The orb lands, an alien thing comes out, an idiot shoots it, out pops keanu reeves he also has a big toy robot thing. The rest is pretty uninteresting, the aliens came to save planet earth from us cos we are destructive, they have a bunch of these big orbs that attract animals to them (noah's arc).

Anyway the stupid american's do their best to kill Keanu Reeves and his big toy robot cos Aliens who have mastered space travel aren't likely to handle gun fire or missiles. The stupid black kid and the white woman have a cry at the dead dad's grave and Keanu decides not to kill us all off.

That's pretty much it.

Annoying things about this movie

There is a scene where the kid is playing WOW on his laptop.
There is a random arab scientist who introduces himself to the white chick.. umm why? token arab is the new token black
Keanu meets this old asian guy who is an alien that has lived as a human for 70 years, guess where they meet??? Freaking McDonalds

Eragon

So I watched Eragon...

What a shitty Lord of the Rings rip off.

The main character was way too pretty, he had no personality.

What was with his try hard deep manly voice? A few of the characters seemed to have this problem.

There was no characterisation, umm who are these people? Just a bunch of random people with weird names from weird places.

Robert Carlyle was one of the worst villains I’ve ever seen.

There were so many random overhead shots of scenery much like LOTR but it was overdone.

The epic battle was just Eragon's dragon vs the magician's dark magic fake dragon, the rest of the people fighting weren't important.

Once all that was over I was thinking great now he will go and fight the umm main bad guys real dragon and that would be the end.

But no we were at the end!! How the hell can you tell a fantasy story in like 100min? its not a fast paced action movie where things don’t need to be explained!

It was a piece of shit but it didn't make me want to wipe out humanity.

Artificial Sweeteners

I have a sweet tooth, I like chocolate, lollies, icecream etc.

The thing is, I don't want to be a chubster so I try and buy low sugar/low fat stuff with lower calories.

So last week I came across Skinny Cow icecream, with way less sugar and fat than everything else.

However today I decided to checkout what is in it.

Sweeteners 950,951,955

A summary of safety concerns from www.AdditiveAlert.com.au

950 Acesulphame-K: caused cancer and tumours in animal tests

951 Aspartame (Nutrasweet, Equal): linked to many health problems including headaches, seizures and brain tumours. The FDA has received more complaints about aspartame than any other food additive

952 Cyclamates: suspected carcinogen banned in the UK and USA in 1970 but still permitted in Australia

954 Saccharin: linked to bladder and reproductive cancers banned in the USA in 1977 but reinstated with strict labelling provisions

955 Sucralose: caused kidney and liver damage in tests, more research needed

sounds pretty good so far

Diet Coke seems to have 950 and 951

my dairy farmers light yoghurt has the same

sigh

guess i will have to start baking at least i know what the ingredients are

Wii Fit!!!

Having seen the crap commercial a million times now and checking out the reviews I figured what the hell a Wii Fit can probably fit into my workout routine nicely. (Considering I already have my body opponent bag (bob), my weight set, super bench, rower and exercise bike.)

What more does one need?.. entertainment!!

Firstly I hate Nintendo, Sega Master System kicked it's arse and so did Playstation.

The Wii is very much a standard nintendo console, a nancy boy gaming system aimed at preteens, teens and chicks. I wouldn't be buying too many of the games.

Well Wii Sports that comes with all Wii consoles is good for fitness and great for when degenerates come over and want to be entertained. Only problem is you have to cough up $100 for another left and right hand controller.

Wii Fit is the only reason I bought one and I have to say Wii Fit is freaking awesome.

The exercises are pretty good, (you aren't going to get as good a workout as you would at the gym or doing any other random exercise besides walking).

However it does allow you to do multiple exercise types. Balance, Muscle building, flexibilty/yoga and aerobics. (You aren't going to cover all these areas doing a regular workout and if you do congrats for having the motivation to plan it.)

The real value in the Wii Fit is the entertainment value. Most of the games are fun and even though a lot of them don't have much depth there are enough of them to keep you interested.

Hopefully there will be some other decent fitness games coming out soon.

exercise = boredom
entertainment = fatness
exercise + entertainment = buffness

World Propaganda Day

I wish there was an Atheist church (the internet doesn't count) where all of us non believers can go to mock religious people.

There could be an anti-priest who each Sunday refutes parts of the bible.

ahh would be sweet

Argh being a loner is so much easier

Coming to Sydney and having a social life has taught me the following:

Introverted geeks shouldn't go to partys

Tonight was 4 hours of extreme boredom, watching a bunch of extroverted tryhard hiphop dancers, listening to trash music, playing pass the parcel with stupid challenges and truth or dare stuff.

My only sanctuary was to go on the balcony and chatting to smokers, which for me is so degrading.

Unfortunately I'm stuck with this crap for about 3-4 years until i have enough to retire to the country.

Sigh...

Hollywood WTF!

Get Smart!

WTF?

If they were paying people $100 to watch this I still wouldn't go.

Having seen the preview I feel embarrassed and ashamed to be human. And I haven't felt that way since watching "dirty love" with people who thought it was funny.

What is next? Happy Days the movie?

It's 5am and I can't sleep

I'm annoyed cos I woke up too early and now I can't get back to sleep. This is going to screw up my whole day, oh well.

Since I have been to the end of the internet and back and I've basically watched everything foxtel can throw at me what else is there to do but blog?

It has been a while which is generally bad.

I had the realisation during my I can't get back to sleep phase.

There are two kinds of me, 1. Is a needy emo bitch who needs attention and lets people walk all over him and 2. An arrogant all knowing and all powerful god who is in awe of his own awesomeness.

Unfortunately No1 has been dominant for maybe 9 months now and really dominant over the last few weeks, I realise he comes out when things aren't going too well. When my stocks are getting raped, when poker is going badly and when people are frustrating me. It is obviously some kind of fear based mechanism.

No2 is the opposite, when things are going well I feel I have control over my life and can express my opinions without giving a shit. I like this guy way better and right now it is good to have him back.

So what has been happening in my life? Well I deleted facebook and myspace. I thought it's about time. I never got into facebook and myspace is just full of fake boring people. I've basically just been focusing on poker and watching about 12 hours a day of tv (online poker is mine numbingly boring that i need a distraction). I'm finally getting back into the poker groove after a very long time so soon I'll be making big bucks again.

Everything else is going well, my stocks are up and the business is doing well.

Handed out about 9000 flyers for our mother's day promotion which was a pain, I wont be doing that again. But at least we are having a big month.

I'm also keeping my place clean!!

That is about all, I think it is time to go back to bed.

Good Night Internet

Apartment Gardening Part 2

So it's been 2 months since my first update on my garden and I've been lazy with blogging (lazy in general).

Everything is growing well, one of my beetroots is nearly ready and I have about 30 little tomatoes growing.

Surprisingly it hasn't taken much effort. I pretty much just use super cheap potting mix in buckets or random recylable stuff and water whenever I feel like it.

I also got a worm farm a while back which is going along pretty slowly (more like a fruit fly farm).

Trying to grow some more herbs now as everything grows pretty slow and I'm trying to be healthier.

My Body and I

My body has the following rules:

8 hours or more of sleep a night. Will usually be forgiven if I take an afternoon nap the following day. (as long as it is significant enough to make up the difference plus interest)

My body doesn’t like to get up before 9am especially when it is cold.

It likes breakfast within 30min of getting up.

Meals every 3 hours, sometimes it can go for 4 hours but only if there is limited brain use during that time.

At least 2 healthy meals a day. It wont tolerate too much junk food.

Limited exposure to dust.

Not happy with season changes eg very hot for weeks then a really cold day.

If my body is not happy then I will get hay fever symptoms, continual abuse will result in 1 day or more of this.

Seems my body is as fussy as I am. It is kind of annoying but I guess it is good to be punished for bad behaviour.

Unfortunately I frequently forget my body rules. I was a bit sick the last few days from getting 5 hours sleep and no afternoon nap :( (had to do comp work at the studio).

I’ve also haven’t been eating enough food or good food.

Now I’m trying to keep my body happy with more fruit, vegies, herbs and vitamin tablets.

Hopefully it’ll stop punishing me.

3 great movies/docos

Besides watching Jerry Springer, wrestling and bad movies, occasionally I come across a few really good things to watch.

Surprisingly I have watched 3 very good movie/docos in the last month. (Anyone who knows me knows that I’m extremely fussy and anal so I rarely say something is good)

1st one is "The Man From Earth" pretty much a dialogue only movie.

A bunch of teachers find out their buddy is leaving, they confront him and he tells them he is 14000 years old.

This movie was so good I watched it again the next day. No special effects or super hot people just a damn good story.

"Zeitgeist the Movie"

Part 1 tells us what atheists already know, that religion is a load of bs. Mostly breaking down the bible and telling us where the stories come from. (helpful for debates with religious nuts)

Part 2 is about 9/11 being an inside job and the reasons why.

Part 3 is how a bunch of rich bankers control the world and cause war to gain money (increasing America’s debt so they pay more interest on loans).

The main point of this documentary is for people to stop being stupid douche bags who blindly follow mass media.

Last good Documentary I saw a while ago was "Who Killed the Electric Car".

Due to legislation in California car companies had to build a certain number of zero emission cars.

These electric cars worked well but because car companies/oil companies make more money on regular cars they didn’t promote them and destroyed them all when the laws were changed.

Sad thing is that we could all be driving electric cars now especially with battery technology.

The electric cars were built in 96 so you can imagine how much longer the cars would run for now. Probably 4+ hours of driving which would be good for 99.9% of the population and a hybrid fuel system to keep everyone happy.

The problem is big business/people in charge use the media to manipulate the public and send out scare campaigns, then promote future technology that is basically unworkable and far away.

It’s just another use of strategic manipulation. All very easy when the general public mostly cares about what Britney/(insert dumb celebrity) is doing and how they are going to waste their next pay cheque.

I suggest anyone with a brain watches all 3 of these.

What I learnt from watching 10000BC

Ugly people are evil.

Really good looking people have great ethics.

They had really good dentists back then. No chipped crooked or missing teeth and all perfectly white.

Scruffy beards weren’t around until the 60’s cos everyone in 10000BC had well maintained facial hair.

All the animals were really big, smaller animals weren’t created until later.

You can walk from freezing conditions to the hot desert in little time, without changing your clothes or having problems adapting to conditions.

Different tribes generally had different coloured skin despite being in walking distance of one another.

Wooly mammoths worked on the pyramids, lucky for them they didn’t get too hot with all that hair.

The pyramids were built earlier than we thought.

Really tall god like people who get spears thrown at them are in at least 2 really shit movies.

Cleaning 101

It's apparent that many years of being a momma's boy doesn't prepare you for life on your own.

So far everything seems good... umm well I'm still alive and I only get sick once a month now.

Apart from CLEANING!!

cook food -- WASH DISHES

wear clothes -- WASH CLoTHES (apparently wearing the same thing for 2 weeks straight isn't hygenic, damn you society)

have a shower -- WASH TOWELS

shave/cut hair -- CLEAN ALL THE HAIR OFF THE FLOOR/SINK

sleep in a bed -- WASH SHEETS

go to the toilet -- CLEAN THE TOILET

walk around -- VACUUM

sit on a couch -- CLEAN THE FREAKING COUCH

watch tv -- DUST THE FREAKING THING

sigh sigh sigh

God has given me a big indication that I am above cleaning so I tend to do as little as possible. (Hayfever, nothing like sneazing/runny nose/ feeling like crap for half a day after cleaning a few things and being exposed to dust)

This blog was made possible because today I was called a slob, disgusting and a few other things by a germaphobe who likes to inflict pain on me when something I do is substandard so now I must clean :(

Where are my servants??

Sigh if only...

apartment gardening - part 1

So my place is very bland.

I only have basic furniture and not much else.

I do have a large balcony though so I thought about what could use it for?

Being right over the main road it is noisy, even despite being high up, so an outdoor seating area is a waste of time.

So I figured I might as well try and grow things, hopefully some vegies.

So far so good, there is life.

At the moment I'm trying lettuce, beetroot, carrots, capsicum and tomatoes. Plus some herbs and random flowers.

I think I'll need to get some bigger pots and more potting mix soon. If all goes well I'm going to get a worm farm.

I'll try and post updates with how it all goes.

The Sarah Connor Chronicles

T1 and T2 are both classic movies, the 3rd one was pretty crap but still watchable if only for the story.

Having watched the first 2 episodes of this series all I have to say is what a piece of shit.

Whats wrong with it?

Firstly a terminator needs to stand out from the general public, it's a robot from the future. Arnie stood out because of how big he is and how he talks. The liquid metal terminator stood out because of his expressions(he could act) and the cop uniform, basically he was scary.

A hot looking 16 year old girl does not stand out. She basically looks like a hot 16 year old girl so why would anyone think she is a terminator?

The bad terminators are just random semi-buff bad guys who cant act and with the odd bit of silver spray paint on them. They dont stand out at all and aren't scary.

There is no scary build up, it's just oh look there is a bad guy terminator I guess we should shoot at it and make our escape.

What the hell happened to Sarah Connor? She went from looking like a psychotic junkie to some trophy wife, her legs are flawless. It doesn't look like she has had a rough day in her life.

Put the terminator chick and Sarah Connor together and you've basically got the gilmore girls.

Even John Connor the tough little rebel in T2 now looks like some metro nancy boy.

Another thing that pissed me off is that these people are on the run yet they can keep up with the latest fashion trends and keep themselves well groomed?

If they made it with realistic characters and a semi decent believable storyline (not time travelling from 1999 to 2007 so they can have a teen main character) then people might watch it.

Looks like John Connor will probably populate the future of mankind with cyborbs after him and the hot terminator chick inevitably get it on.

Wonder how those humanoid robots are coming along anyway?

My new roomie!! Bob

Bob the body opponent bag.

10min beating the crap out of him and im dripping with sweat

If only there were kevin rudd masks, then I'd last for 20min.

Might have to get him some cheap bling and some ganster clothes, possibly a wig as well.
